Hi there. I am almost in a panic mode. I have started the caning of a chair, and have taken my work out twice now. I am confused as to the side of the cane on the bottom of the chair. Is the glossy part(top)to be facing the floor or up toward the wooden part of the chair. Please send me the answer cause I will not attempt this without starting out correctly. Thank you.
Thanks for asking, maybe I didn’t make that clear on the instructions? No need to panic though, but I can understand your confusion. I also wondered that when I first started weaving. All you need to do is to make sure the shiny side is facing you when you turn the chair over and look at the bottom. So, whenever you look at the finished side of the cane, the shiny side should be what you see, it’s the “right” side up.
