What are chair caning prices near me?

What are the normal chair caning prices or to get your wicker fixed? Have you ever wondered what chair caning prices are near me?

How much would it cost to get my chairs re-caned? Or maybe to have that primitive slat-back chair with the paper rush seat rewoven in natural rush?

How about that wicker rocker with the cane seat from Aunt Sally? What would it cost to get that repaired and fixed so you could use it again? Or the big New England rockers that you want to use on the porch?

Stick around cuz I have just the answers for you!

You can check out the Pricing-Charges page here on WickerWoman.com to get an idea of what charges for chair caning, rush and other seatweaving patterns and what wicker restoration work might cost in your area.

Note: Although I retired from the day-to-day repair work in 2013 and only taking on select projects, my pricing sheet has been updated for 2025. The new pricing sheet is based on several surveys I’ve done with my peers and members of The SeatWeavers’ Guild, Inc.®

It helps the repair pro a great deal if you send them several pictures of your piece when you make your appointment. They can give you a rough estimate and then discuss the project when you deliver it.

Use my chair caning pricing as a guide only, and keep in mind that I don’t have a lot of overhead expenses and live in the Midwest, where the cost of living is comfortable.

I’ve been doing this as a full-time business for many, many years now and have repaired and restored thousands of pieces over my career.

Remember that seatweaving and wicker restoration pricing varies across the country due to several factors. The cost of living, what the market will bear, and the proficiency of the weaver all go into the final pricing that a professional repair shop charges.

Typically chair caning charges on the East and West coasts are a bit higher than they are in the Midwest and the South because the cost of living is generally higher on the coasts.

  1. David,

You didn’t mention what state you are in but as I said in the post, go to the National Furniture Repair Directory™ to find a seatweaving expert that can reweave your cane seat chair. First select the Seatweaving/Caning category, then your state, and then see which professional is nearest you. Give them a call to set up an appointment and be sure to tell them you found them through my Furniture Repair Directory™ on WickerWoman.com. Thanks, glad I could point you in the direction to get some repair help.
